ADULT EDUCATION
The Adult Education Committee promotes educational activities and programs for the Congregation and the community to increase knowledge of Jewish religion, culture, and heritage.
Beth Am has an active Adult Education program. In 2008, we completed a twenty year "Torah Study" program in which we read through all 39 books of the Tanakh (Jewish Bible).
Ongoing classes at present include the weekly "Genesis Study Group" on Mondays at 7:45 pm and "Jews and the News," our current events group which meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 10 am.
Periodically, we offer Adult Bat/Bar Mitzvah classes, as well as a variety of other classes and adult educational programming.
In addition, Rabbi Pernick's style at most Shabbat services is to focus on teaching, rather than preaching.
GENESIS!
Genesis meets every Monday night at 7:45 PM. Join us for a lively discussion about the first book in the bible. Ask questions, meet new people, socialize. Free, come whenever you are available and learn something new. Led by Rabbi Dan Pernick.
